Rotary Vacuum Evaporator
Rotary evaporators, commonly referred to as “ Rotovap ” are sophisticated laboratory instruments designed to remove solvents from samples in a safe and efficient manner. It works by gently heating and rotating the solvent to increase surface area, combined with reduced pressure to lower boiling points, making it ideal for heat-sensitive materials. It is developed to facilitate the rapid evaporation of solvents under reduced pressure.

Working Principle
A Rotavap / Rotary Vacuum Evaporator works by combining rotation, heat, and vacuum to separate solvents. The rotation increases surface area, while the heating bath gently warms the solvent. Vacuum pressure reduces the boiling point, allowing evaporation to occur at lower temperatures, making it ideal for sensitive compounds. The evaporated solvent is then condensed and collected.
This process is key in industries like pharmaceuticals, food processing, and chemical synthesis, where it’s crucial to preserve the integrity of delicate compounds.
