JACKETED GLASS REACTOR
Borosilicate glass reactors provide a unique advantage in modern chemical synthesis—the ability to visually monitor reactions in real-time. Unlike metal or opaque vessels, these chemical reaction vessels ensure full visibility, crucial for research, scale-up trials, and quality control. However, traditional heating methods in glass reactors often compromised this visibility.
This led to the innovation of the jacketed glass reactor—a highly efficient system that maintains the benefits of borosilicate transparency while offering precise thermal control.
Jacketed Glass Reactor – Precision, Control & Clarity for Advanced Chemical Processing
Crafted from premium Borosilicate Glass 3.3 for exceptional visibility, thermal resistance, and operational efficiency from lab-scale synthesis to pilot-scale production.
Overview
What is a Jacketed Glass Reactor?
A jacketed glass reactor is a process vessel designed for precise thermal control during chemical reactions with an integrated external glass jacket. This jacket forms a completely separate chamber around the main reaction vessel, allowing a heating or cooling fluid (such as water, oil, or glycol) to circulate without direct contact with the reactants inside.
The heat transfer occurs through the borosilicate glass wall, ensuring uniform temperature distribution and excellent chemical resistance. Inlet and outlet nozzles are provided on the jacket for media flow, and an additional venting nozzle can be added as required.
All nozzles are equipped with standard M16/M30 fittings, allowing easy integration with internationally recognized temperature control units (TCUs) for automated thermal management.
At AAROHI SCIENTIFIC, our borosilicate glass reactors combine visibility, chemical resistance, and robust construction to meet the demands of research, scale-up, and small-batch production environments.
Single vs. Double Jacketed Glass Reactors
We offer both single jacketed and double jacketed glass reactors, tailored to specific process needs:
Single Jacketed Reactor: Ideal for typical laboratory and pilot-scale reactions where temperature control is the main objective.
Double Jacketed Reactor: Designed for enhanced insulation, the second jacket minimizes heat loss and maintains stable operating conditions. These are particularly useful in extreme temperature processes or where long reaction times are involved.
